Bloglines: Spotlight on podcasting

Jake Lowen

Jake Lowen, Director of Organizing at Hope Street Youth Development, has built an amazing resource for organizers across the country. Lowen’s website, www.jakelowen.com, uses short streaming videos (called “podcasts”) to share stories and lessons about organizing. Every week Lowen produces a new “Battle Stories” video that highlights a victory or organizing tactic. Recent topics include Sunflower Community Action uncovering LoanMax’s secrets, National People’s Action’s visit to the American Petroleum Institute, and POWER’s fight for healthy food in schools.

Do you keep a blog about community organizing or about your community group? Want to share it with the rest of the NPA network? Send your web address to Christy@npa-us.org and look for a link on the NPA blog. Visit nparocks.blogspot.com to check out the NPA blog and send in your stories to be featured.
